Cambridge Boys Soccer Shuts Out Sequoyah 10-0, Wednesday, March 8th

The Cambridge Boy's Soccer team easily defeated Sequoyah Wednesday night, March 8th, by the score of 10-0.

Carson Densmore started the scoring with a goal.  Jabar Obeid had 4 goals and an assist, Austin Carranza had 2 goals, Ethan Rose contributed a goal, and  Omar Dhrif and Ryan Walker each had a goal, their first for Varsity.  Josh Winnett had 3 assists.

Coach Wallace said "Sequoyah has always been an excellent test for us, as evidenced by the fact that we have lost to them in close games three times over the course of the last two seasons.  I was very interested to see how we would respond after a disappointing result against Centennial where we didn't play to our potential.  I absolutely could not have predicted the outcome of this game and ultimately I'm not sure the final score should be the focus.

"What I was pleased with was the energy level, the degree of responsibility the players took in warm-ups and preparation, the communication, and the level of play.  From the outset, touches were clean, the ball was moving, players were attacking, and we generated scoring opportunities.  The outcome was certainly a result of this attitude and energy, and that is an important lesson for us as we mature and develop as a unit.  The challenge going forward will be to find ways to capture and duplicate the intensity we maintained throughout this match and we will look to test ourselves against another quality opponent on Friday against Dunwoody."

Please come out to Cambridge Stadium Friday night, March 10th to support the Bears in a region contest vs Dunwoody. Game time is 8:00pm.

It will be Pancreatic cancer awareness night in honor of Stephen Lakatos, father of soccer alumni and class of 2016, 4 year varsity letterman Matt Lakatos, who will be the Bears Honorary captain Friday night.

Go Bears!
