Varsity Boys Soccer Loses Region Game to Centennial, Friday, March 3rd

Varsity Boys Soccer Loses Region Game to Centennial, Friday, March 3rd

The Cambridge Boy's Soccer Team suffered a tough Regional game defeat in a high scoring game versus Centennial Friday night, March 3rd.

The final was 6-4. John Crawley had 3 goals and Josh Winnett had 1. Josh had the equalizer to tie the game 4-4 in the second half; however it wasn't enough to bring home the win. John Barton and Austen Carranza both had assists.

Coach Wallace summarized by saying "All of the coaching staff felt going in that this could be a dangerous game for us and our fears were proven right.  We faced our first road test against a very talented team in Centennial.  To complicate matters, we were down several players due to injuries, illnesses, and travel, and then lost two more players to injury by halftime.  This put us in a tough spot but we gave ourselves a chance by scoring early to go up 1-0.  Unfortunately, we were unable to find a way to deal with their skilled group of attackers and despite a spirited comeback after conceding three unanswered goals, we ended up falling 6-4.  I'm sure the players and coaches are eager to get back to the practice field and find a few fixes, and we look forward to a better showing against Sequoyah and Dunwoody this week."

Please come out and support the Bears Wednesday night, March 8th versus Sequoyah at home at 5:45 and Friday night, March 10th at 8:00pm for a Regional game against Dunwoody at Cambridge!

Go Bears!
