Cambridge Varsity Boys Soccer Defeats Milton 2-1 on Last Minute Penalty Kick, Tuesday, Feb. 14th

The Boy's Soccer Team pulled out a last minute win in a physical game against Milton at home on Valentines Day, Tuesday, February 14th.

Love was in the air!!Jaber Obeid had a goal with an assist from John CrawleyEthan Rose had a PK with one minute to go to win the game 2-1.  Great goalkeeping again from Nic Sides.  Congrats to the Seniors on the team! They've gone 2-0-2 over Milton during their tenure and have only given up one goal to Milton in 4 years!!  Great to see the crowd at the game.

Coach Wallace said "The Milton game was perhaps the toughest test we faced so far as the Eagles came out with a tremendous amount of energy and pressured us into a lot of mistakes in the first half.  It was a good opportunity for us to learn how to deal with an athletic, fast, high pressure team and it was also a character test as we were forced to play from behind for the first time this regular season.

I thought we made some really good adjustments in the second half and were able to have some success.  We generated several quality opportunities in the final 40 minutes and it was nice to see a positive result.  These are the kinds of games we will have to be able to win as we move into a very difficult region schedule and playing quality opponents like this early in the season is excellent preparation."

Go Bears!
