Boys Varsity Soccer Finish 2nd in Region Championship; Prepare to Host State Playoff Game

Cambridge Boys Varsity Soccer lost a tough match against Riverwood in the final minutes of the Region 7 AAAAA Championship on Tuesday, April 19th

The Bears dominated Riverwood in the first half with many shots on goal. The Raider's goalkeeper was successful at keeping all shots from being converted to goals and both teams remained scoreless going into the half.

In the second half, the Bears continued to play stellar defense and pressured the Raiders.  With 8 minutes left in the game, an unlucky deep ball got behind the defense and created an opportunity for the Raiders to score.  Minutes later, a second goal was scored by the same Raider's player bringing the final score to 2-0.

The Raiders were crowned Region Champions with the Bears finishing in 2nd place. This is the strongest finish for the Cambridge Boys Varsity Soccer program since the school's inception in 2012.

Next up, the Bears first State Playoff game, Tuesday, April 26th at Cambridge. Game time is 7:30pm.
