Cambridge Boys Varsity Soccer Defeats River Ridge, Creekview, and Sprayberry

Cambridge Boys Varsity Soccer Defeats River Ridge, Creekview, and Sprayberry

The Bears Varsity Boys Soccer team are on a 3 game winning streak thanks in large part to the persistence, hustle and gutsy play by Man of the Match, Alex Mueller, who scored the winning goal for the Bears against River Ridge HS Wednesday, March 18th. The Bears defeated River Ridge 2-1.

The pivotal player of the game in the Creekview win was Man of the Match, Clay Hammer, for his outstanding defense and assists in setting up numerous goal shots, helping Cambridge win 2-0, Friday March 20th.  Coach Wallace was thrilled with the defense's execution and Hammer's accurate passing both short and long field.

With a minute left in the first half of the Tuesday, March 24th game against region opponent Sprayberry, Brett Stephens sent a nice arc over the goalie's reach for the first goal.

The second half saw a goal made by Alex Mueller, in a very heads-up effort, by taking a timely shot after some aggressive play by JD White drew out the goalie. Goal number 3 was contributed by mid-fielder Griffin Boone

Bear's Coach Wallace was proud of his team getting the 3-0 win. He attributed the win to great energy and effort by the starting lineup and also by the subs who kept the level of play consistently high.

Valuable leadership provided on the field by Man of the Match, Zack Midulla, contributed to good teamwork and effective play throughout the game.

The Bears are 7-2-1 overall and 3-0 in region games as they take on the strong region opponent, Riverwood on Friday, March 27 at home.  Game time 7:30pm.

Come on out and cheer Boys' Varsity soccer to their next win!  Go Bears!
