Varsity Boys Soccer Falls to Sequoyah in Overtime

Varsity Boys Soccer Falls to Sequoyah in Overtime

Boys' Varsity Soccer lost to Sequoyah 2-1 in overtime free kicks, Monday, March 16th.

During the game, Sequoyah was quick to the ball but Head Coach Bryan Wallace felt his team played very well. They stuck with their strategies and had significantly more shots on goal than Sequoyah, but were just unlucky with several Bear goal shots hitting the cross bar and side bar. A very disappointing loss after a hard-fought game.

Midfielder Griffin Boone took a pass from Carson Densmore and kicked it past the Sequoyah goalie to score the only Cambridge goal during regulation play. Boone earned Man of the Match honors for his aggressive play and the 2 goals he scored.

The second goal was in the post-overtime tie breaking penalty (free) kicks. Junior Brett Stephens, striker, was twice Man of the Match for his goal scoring contributions and efforts in Cambridge wins against Kell HS and Woodlands HS.

Bears head in to the middle of their season with a 4-2-1 (W-L-T) overall record.
