Cambridge Scores Big Win Over Fellowship Christian in Men’s JV Soccer Wed. March 26th

The Cambridge Bears defeated the Fellowship Christian Paladins, 5-2, in a fast-paced, exciting men's JV soccer game on Wednesday, March 26.

The Paladins came out of gate strong, scoring a goal within the first five minutes of play.  The Bears quickly answered back with several offensive attacks followed by a goal from Tyler Filosi. Cambridge goalie Zack Shirk successfully blocked a 25 yard direct kick resulting from a hand ball call. Maintaining strong control of the midfield, the Bears kept the ball in front of the Paladin's goal for the rest of the first half, with several close shots on goal, including a successful strike by Lucas LoPiccolo, giving Cambridge the advantage, 2-1.

After halftime, the Paladins charged the field once more with a goal within the first minute of play, evening up the score, 2-2.   The Bears would not be denied, and the second half was even stronger than the first, with all players focusing on effective passing and possession. That teamwork paid off, and the Bears dominated the game with one more goal, each from Filosi and LoPiccolo, followed by a strike from Tammer El-Kadi in the final 10 minutes of play.

The JV team will host East Paulding, Wednesday, April 2 at 5:30 p.m.

Go Bears!!
