Cambridge Shuts Out Wesleyan 3-0 in Men’s JV Soccer Wed. March 12th

Low, dark clouds rolled over Bear Country on Wednesday, March 12th, accompanied by strong wind gusts of up to 30 mph, as the Cambridge Bears took on the Wesleyan Wolves in Men's JV Soccer.

The wind proved both friend and foe to those attempting long kicks, and play was halted altogether at one point when trash cans and loose turf mats blew onto the field.

But nothing could stop the Bears who had a score to settle after losing to Wesleyan earlier in the season in the final moments of a hard-fought match.

The Bears came on strong and never let up, with Carson Densmore scoring the first goal for Cambridge 28 minutes into the game, followed shortly by a second goal from Clay Hammer. The ball rarely left the Wesleyan side of the field, with Bears constantly charging the Wolves' goal and a strong Cambridge midfield and defensive team thwarting any offensive attempts by Wesleyan.

Less than 3 minutes into the second half, Nick Catt scored a dramatic goal from a 20 yard kick. The ball came in high, hit the crossbar and dropped neatly behind the goalie's head, bringing the score to 3-0.

The desperate Wolves resorted to very physical play, but the Bears stood firm.

Go Bears!
