Bears JV Soccer Swat Away Hornets 3-1 During Season Opener

Cambridge Junior Varsity Men's Soccer hit the ground running during their first game of the season on Thursday, February 20, with an exciting 3-1 victory over Roswell High School.

After a fast-paced, well-matched opening, the Hornets stung first with a goal after 25 minutes of play, leaving the Bears down 1-0 at the end of the first half.  The Bears adjusted their strategy heading into the second half, showing a much more aggressive style of play, resulting in a 30-yard goal shot from forward Nick Catt in the first 10 minutes of play.   With the score even, the Bears continued to apply pressure, keeping the ball on the Roswell side of the field with numerous shots on goal.

With 15 minutes remaining, and the Roswell defenses showing fatigue, the Bears struck again with a goal from forward Ben Tamjidi, putting the Bears in the lead for the first time in the game.  Five minutes later, Cambridge forward Nick Catt went on to score a second, security goal for the team.

With a 3-1 lead and 10 minutes remaining, the Bears strengthened their defenses, thwarting numerous goal shots from a desperate Roswell team, ensuring the home-opening victory for the team.

Go Bears!
