Men's Varsity Soccer Shuts Out West Hall 1-0 Monday, March 31st

The Bears Varsity Men's Soccer team beat the bushes to come up with a 1-0 win over West Hall Monday March 31st, moving their record to 9-4 overall.

The dominant defense has 8 shutouts and has only allowed 4 goals against region opponents in regulation play.

The game started off with some dominant play by Junior John Barnabei.  Defenders Zack Midulla and Avery Spaulding repeatedly frustrated West Hall by winning the ball and preventing goal shots. Goalie Zack Evens denied the shots that were taken with some impressive dives and punch stops.

Senior Mitchell Stephens gets Man of the Match recognition again. This time for his leadership on the field, especially in the second half as the pace escalated and the West Hall team pressed hard to score. Mitchell's smart, calm play helped the Bears shut out another strong team.  Mitchell also scored the Bears only goal.

Good team fundamentals left Coach Wallace pleased with the win.

Next game is Thursday, April 3rd, at region opponent Riverwood.  Riverwood is 5-2 in region games. (8-4-1 overall).

Go Bears!
