Men's Soccer Loses to 2nd Ranked Pope 1-0 on Monday, March 24th

Varsity Men's Soccer lost 1-0 in a very close game against second-in-State ranked Pope Monday, March 24th.

The Bears held Pope scoreless until the middle of the second half. Coach Wallace attributed this to a strong first half when his team possessed the ball, with good combinations, to make Pope chase them.

Zach Midulla and Avery Spalding played aggressively and tirelessly to defend their goal.  Diego Zarate, Garrett Shan controlled the ball like it was a precious jewel.  Alex Mueller and Brett and Mitchell Stephens passed with precision. Goalie John Shayne made some bold grabs to hold off the Pope offensive.

No one person stood out in this cohesive team effort against Pope. Coach Wallace was proud of the overall strong effort by the entire team, however it was a tough loss.

With a 4-2 (7-4 overall) record in Region play, the Bears travel to play non-region adversary, Milton High School, on Friday, March 28th.

Go Bears!
