Cambridge Men's Varsity Soccer Off to Great Start

Cambridge Men's Varsity Soccer Off to Great Start

The Cambridge Varsity Men's Soccer team brought its intensity to Sequoyah High School, Monday, March 3, and used it to win, 1-0, in a hard fought game.

Coach Bryan Wallace was pleased, in particular, with this victory because last year every time games were close through the first half, the team seemed to fall apart in the second half. Wallace says that is not the case this year.

This was the second game Bears claimed the win by scoring second half goals. The Bears' only goal against the Chiefs was scored when senior and offensive player Mitchell Stephens slipped a perfect pass to Julien Ekeholm, who kicked it in the net. Stephens played an intense but controlled game and set a good tone for the Bears' team.

Coach Wallace says his great effort helped clinch Mitchell as the game's MAN OF THE MATCH in this second Region game win.

Next up, the Bears travel to Westminster Thursday, March 6th and play at 5:55 p.m.

Be sure to come out and watch this outstanding team here at Cambridge, this Friday, March 7th, at 7:30 p.m. as the Bears battle region opponent Northview.

Go Bears!!
