Cambridge Varsity Boys Lacrosse Use Big 2nd Half Rally to Defeat Roswell

Cambridge Varsity Boys Lacrosse Use Big 2nd Half Rally to Defeat Roswell

In the first ever Boys Lacrosse meeting between the two local rivals, Cambridge hosted Roswell on Saturday, February 25th.

Roswell controlled the first half and took a 5-2 lead heading into halftime. Things changed in hurry in the 3rd Quarter when the Bears outscored the Hornets by a score of 8-1, leading to a final score of 13-6.  Junior, Longstick Midfielder Nick Ganem controlled play for the Bears between the lines with a combination of faceoff wins, takeaway checks, and ground balls.

The Defense was once again led by Senior Captain, Goalie Ben Clark.  Ben was credited with 16 saves on the day and did a masterful job leading the clears.  The Close Defense of Seniors Eric Drucker and Nic Martini, as well as Juniors Ryan Sadighian and Will Covington did a tremendous job keeping the Hornets explosive attack unit in check.

Scoring for the Bears was balanced, like it has been all season long with 11 different players registering either a goal or an assist.  Freshman Ian Dexter was the goal scoring leader with 3, while he also added an assist.  Junior Austin Darnell, Senior Captain Jack Sadighian and Freshman Zach Shiffman all contributed 2 goals.  Junior Zach Furr and Senior Captain Tyler Werth each tallied their first goals of the young season.

The Bears return to action on Thursday March 2nd for a home non-area game against McIntosh.  Action begins at 7:30.

Go Bears!
