Varsity Boy's Lacrosse Down GAC 8-3

Varsity Boy's Lacrosse Down GAC 8-3

The Bears Boy's Lacrosse team is now 4-0 in GA 5A Area 03 play after a big win against the always-tough Greater Atlanta Christian Spartans (GAC) in front of a GREAT CROWD at Bears Stadium Tuesday, March 10th!

The first half of this game proved to be an incredible defensive show for both teams.  The Bears Defense led by Balon Compton, Tate Prezzano and Chase Darnell, along with goalie Aaron Contreras and assisted by the awesome middie defense of LSM Nick Herrick, was relentless against Spartans offense, forcing turnovers and not allowing them to capitalize on winning the majority of face-offs or trying to execute fast breaks.

The Bears offense faced the same tough defense from GAC as we attempted to execute our offense.  Neither team was very successful at clearing the ball on the night, more evidence of the excellent defensive effort for both teams.

GAC goalie put on quite a show, stopping multiple shots in the first half.  By the end of the first quarter the score was 0-0 and tied 1-1 at the half.

The second half, however, was a different story.  The Bears Defense came out just as tough and the offense took charge, scoring 4 goals in the 3rd quarter to GAC's 1 goal.

The Bears were far from done, adding 3 more goals in the 4th to GAC's 1, for a final score of 8-3.

Once again, goals were shared unselfishly by several Bears including Jameson Wilkins, Brendan Fahey, Tyler Werth, Jake Leddy, Jack Sadighian, and Will Britain, with assists by Fahey and Leddy.

Bears won the ground ball battle and had 15 more shots on goal than GAC.  Contreras had another great game in goal, maintaining the Bears lead.

Another exciting win for this Bears team as they continue to improve in both talent and depth.

Go Bears!
