Bears Varsity Boys Lacrosse Down North Springs & Wesleyan

Cambridge-15, North Springs-0  Monday, March 2nd

After a tough opening loss to Northview, the Bears Boy's Lacrosse team visited the North Springs Spartans Monday, March 2nd for their first region game.

Looking for their first win of the season, they responded with an outstanding offensive and defensive effort for a 15-0 shutout.

The Bears defense played tough, allowing only one shot on goal against Aaron Contreras the entire game.  The offense's crisp ball movement set up multiple players with scoring opportunities.  Goals were scored by Zac Lehman, Brendan Fahey, Jake Leddy, Griffin Chambers, Miles Copeland, Tyler Werth, Jack Sadighian, Dylan Gabriel, Jamie Wilkins and Will Britain.  Those goals were assisted by multiple players, including Lehman, Chambers, Werth,Wilkins, and Kevin Shuckle.

Multiple Bears players won the ground ball battle as well, and Austin Walling dominated at faceoff, keeping the ball in the Bears' control.

It was a great win for the Bears!

Cambridge-14, Wesleyan-8  Wednesday, March 4th

The Bears Boy's Lacrosse team played their second region game of the season against the Wesleyan Wolves, Wednesday, March 4th.

The matchup remained close at the end of the first quarter, but the Bears controlled the offensive battle against the Wolves and the score was 8-3 by half and 14-8 for the final.

The Bears overcame turning the ball over twice as many times as the Wolves with defense that did not allow Wesleyan to capitalize on those turnovers.  There were many highlights in this game, including multiple players sharing in the scoring.

Senior Captain Jake Leddy led with five goals and Junior Attack Brendan Fahey had three.  Other goal scorers were Griffin Chambers, Tyler Werth, Alex Sichynsky, Will Britain, Jameson Wilkins and Matt McKay.  Assisting on the goals were Zac Lehman, Jack Sadighian, Max Fleming, Jake Maxam, Britain, Fahey, and Leddy.  Austin Walling was dominant on ground balls, along with Chase Darnell, Tate Prezzano, Leddy and Britain.

Walling and Eric Cizek won the majority of faceoffs, and goalie Ben Clark kept the Bears in the lead with nine huge stops of the Wolves' shots on goal.

Another great win for the Bears!
