Bears JV Men's Lacrosse Sweep Northview, Fellowship

Bears JV Men's Lacrosse Sweep Northview, Fellowship

Bears vs. Fellowship (April 17)

Bears JV Men's lacrosse team finishes strong to defeat Fellowship Christian 9-4!  Bears JV remains undefeated on the season!!

The Bears faced their toughest opponents of the season in Fellowship.  Bears offense struggled to move the ball into scoring position at the crease for much of the first half being forced to shoot from outside, while Fellowship was successful in causing turnovers and forcing take-aways.

Throughout the game, Fellowship sticks seemed to always be in the right place at the right time to maintain possession when Bears attempted to force turnovers.  The Bears were penalized four times during the first half allowing Fellowship man-up play which led to two Fellowship goals in the first quarter.  Despite a Bears slow start, the score was tied 3-3 at the end of two quarters.

The Bears adjusted in the second half as Jack Sadighian forced several turnovers and, along with Nic Martini, controlled the ground ball game.  Fellowship won the face-off battle until the 4th quarter when Austin Walling won three face-offs in a row leading to Bears fast break goals.

Goals were shared by several Bears led by Max Fleming who was on fire with 4 goals and 2 assists.  Additional scores by Bennett Ferguson, Micah Pavcik (2), Sadighian, and Griffen Chambers.  Bears assisting on those goals include Walling and Chambers.  Fellowship would answer with one more goal but could not stop the Bears charge in the 4th quarter.   Bears Goalie Andrew Horton had 8 saves for the game!

What an exciting game and win for our JV Bears!

Bears will play Milton @ Milton on Wed April 23rd at 5:30!

Come out in your Cambridge Blue to cheer on the Bears!!

Bears vs. Northview (April 15)

JV Men's Lacrosse dominates NorthView 10-3 to extend their undefeated streak!!

Cambridge showed NV they came out to play within the first :18 after Austin Walling won the face off and fed to Jake Maxam for the first goal.  Just over one minute later Max Fleming scored the Bears second goal on a feed from Zach Lehman

Northview played an unusual style of offense, which primarily consisted of very heavy ball-control which deliberately occurred (mostly outside the box) with limited offensive looks and an offensive strategy that generally stalled for the most part.  Their offensive success was limited to unsettled and man-up play.

When the Bears offense controlled the ball, they dominated at the goal despite NV's defensive efforts.  Fleming would score two more goals.  Additional goals shot by Lehman (3), Griffen Chambers, Walling and Jack Sadighian.  The unselfish Bears assisting on goals include Maxam (2), Chambers (3), Sadighian, Walling and Lehman.  Sadighian led all players in ground balls and goalie Andrew Horton had 7 saves during the game.

NV had several shots but Bears defenders led by RJ Dykes, Jack Lundstrom and Peter Knapp prevented NV shooters from getting good shots.

Another exciting game by our JV Men's Lacrosse game!

Go Bears!
