Men's JV Lacrosse Defeat Wesleyan 15-8 Saturday, March 29th

The always exciting Bears JV Mens Lacrosse team extend their winning streak 8-0 defeating the Wesleyan Wolves in Bear Country 15-8.

The Bears came out to ready to play, striking first after Zach Lehman's pass to Griffen Chambers who scored the first of his three goals for the day.  Wesleyan answered with their own goal but the Bears would have none of that when Max Fleming threw a great feed for a Jake Maxam goal to go up 2-1 then continued scoring with two unassisted goals by Austin Walling and Chambers to end the first period 4-1.

By the end of the half is was evident Wesleyan had their work cut out for them as the Bears went up 8-2!  The Bears sharp passing and fast breaks led to multiple assists by Zach Lehman (3), Max Fleming, Jack Sadighian and Griffen Chambers (2 each) and Eric Drucker leading to goals by several Bears including Lehman (5) Chambers (3) Bennett Ferguson (2), Walling (2), Sadighian, Maxam and Fleming.

The highlight of the day was Eric Drucker's defensive hit on a Wesleyan player, sending the player and the ball to the ground, Eric picked it up ran the fast break downfield to a wide open Zach Lehman who put the ball in the goal!

The Bears controlled possession of the ball for most of the game with Jack Sadighian and Austin Walling leading the Bears in ground balls and the Bears defenders and middies forcing multiple turnovers.  Wesleyan made a strong effort to get back in the game during the 4th period when they scored  three quick goals on our defenders but this effort turned out to be too little too late as time ran out and Bears win 15-8!

The JV Bears remain undefeated on the season as they head to Marist on Tues April 1st and then face Blessed Trinity at Home on Thurs April 3rd!!

Come out and cheer on the exciting JV Bears Thursday 4/3 @ 5:30 in Bear Country!
