The Bears faced their toughest competition to date in the West Forsyth Wolverines on Friday night March 7th, losing 11-8.
The Wolverines struck first, scoring the first goal of the game 3 minutes in. Jameson Wilkins answered back a minute later, followed by Tyler Werth, who scored on a pick up after a missed shot, giving the Bears the lead.
The Wolverines then turned up the heat, scoring the next 8 goals. Cambridge played with renewed focus and fire in the second half on both sides of the field.
The defense, lead by Tate Prezzano, Balon Compton, Raleigh Cassada, Chase Darnell, Britt Spurka and Trey Wolfe, shut down West's scoring machine, stripping the ball and breaking to the offense. Alex Sichynsky started the 4th quarter with a quick goal to start the Bears scoring run – Cambridge scored 6 goals by 6 different Bears. Ben Clark and Aaron Contreras manned the goal.
The Bears record fell to 4-1 while the Wolverines evened theirs to 3-3.
