Cambridge Varsity & JV Lacrosse Post Wins over South Forsyth Sat. Feb. 22

Varsity Lacrosse wins close game over South Forsyth 10-8

The Bears won a tightly fought game against the War Eagles Saturday, Feb. 22nd, coming back in the second half after being down 6-4.  
Cambridge initially led the game 4-1, but the War Eagles owned the second quarter (12 minutes) with 10 minutes to War Eagles and only 2 minutes to the Bears, which resulted in 5 unanswered goals by the War Eagles.  

After regrouping at halftime, Cambridge scored 4 unanswered goals in the 3rd quarter, but South came back with two of their own to even play at 8-8 with 5 minutes left in the game.  Tyler Werth and Brendan Fahey sealed the win with goals in the next two minutes.   Werth led scoring with 3 – his first hat trick as a Bear.  Goalie freshman Ben Clark had a strong game.  

With a signature win, the Bears move onto play Creekview on Tuesday, Feb. 25th and then into area play against Gainesville on Friday, Feb. 28th.

 

JV Lacrosse wins home opener 10 – 4

The JV Lacrosse team beat South Forsyth in their home opener on Saturday, Feb. 22nd.  

The Bears played well against the War Eagles and had 7 different players putting the ball in the net.  Freshman Jake Maxam scored the first goal of the season for the team.  

Leading scorers for Cambridge -- with two goals each – were Bennett Ferguson, Zach Leman and Max Fleming.  Freshman Joseph Dayoub and Andrew Horton defended the goal in the first and second half respectively.  

Both did an equally efficient job directing the defense and clearing the ball.
