Bears JV Lacrosse Fall to Walker 9-6 in Season Opener

Bears JV Lacrosse Fall to Walker 9-6 in Season Opener

The JV Bears opened their season Thursday night, hosting the Walker School Wolverines.  Walker bested the Bears 9-6.  It was a tough loss for Cambridge in a good first effort for the JV team.

The game was a nail-biter – with both teams evenly matched and trading the lead throughout.  Middie Chris Anderson scored for the Bears early, connecting from up the middle.  Also scoring for Cambridge were Micah Pavcik, assisted by Michael Pellegrino, and Trent Wilson

It was all even for the two teams at 6 apiece until late in the third quarter. But face offs and ground balls hurt the Bears, putting them on the defensive for too much of the game.  The CHS defense stepped up to the plate and played solid, led by Jack Lundstrom.  The Wolverine offense was led by Middie #18 – scoring 5 of the 9 Walker goals and frustrating goalie Croix Martini in the cage.
