Cambridge Men's Lacrosse Loses to Greater Atlanta Christan

The Cambridge varsity men's lacrosse team lost a close game to the Greater Atlanta Christian Spartans at home by a score of 6-3, last Thursday, April 18th.

The teams were evenly matched up until the end of the game, where penalties hurt the Bears and gave the Spartans too many opportunities to score. GAC scored early in the first quarter, followed by an iso goal by Jamie Wilkins to even it at one all. The Spartans connected again, netting the ball with under a minute left to play in the quarter to take the lead.  With just 10 seconds left, #23 Kevin Schukle immediately responded with a good dodge from up top to even the score at 2-2.

Penalties on the Bears and an unsettled goal for the GAC led to 3 more Spartan goals.  The Bears managed another goal in the 4th quarter, when Sam Burrafato connected with an strong outside shot.  Cambridge's defense, led by Joshua Kania and Raleigh Cassada, put in another strong performance, as did goalies Aaron Contreras and Croix Martini.
