Bears Varsity Boys Lacrosse Fall to Marist

Bears Varsity Boys Lacrosse Fall to Marist

The Cambridge Bears men's varsity lacrosse team played the Marist Eagles at home on a frigid Monday night, losing a tough one to the Eagles 0-9.  The Bears' record fell to 6-3.

The Bear defense, led by Joshua Kania, Tate Prezzano and Raleigh Cassada, held tough against a seasoned Eagle offense.  Marist had possession of the ball for the majority of the half – but the Cambridge defense held them to just 2 goals with quick slides effectively shutting down Marist's dodging middies.  When the Bear offense did gain possession, they were able to get quality shots off, but were unable to connect.

Marist came out shooting in the 3rd quarter, scoring off a dodge and late slide, a couple of iso's, and a couple of Cambridge penalties.  Face offs and clears continued to plague the Bears.  The 4th quarter saw snow flurries and two more Eagle goals – both lefty shots against an unsettled Bear defense.  The Cambridge offense shot well, but was unable to score against the Marist goalie.
