Bears Varsity Boys Lacrosse Shut Out Bulldogs

The Cambridge Varsity men's lacrosse team opened a double header against the Bulldogs from Forsyth Central High School Thursday night March 7th, besting the Bulldogs at home 16-0.  The Bears' record climbed to 4-2 with the win.

The Cambridge men controlled the game against a new Bulldog team in every sense.  The Bears dominated face offs and time of possession throughout, giving the Cambridge attack and middie lines ample chances to shoot on goal and score.  And score they did – the Bear offense moved the ball well, with nine different CHS players putting the ball in the cage.  Freshman Brendan Fahey was the first to connect, scoring early in the first quarter.  Sophomore Carson Smith had yet another hat trick as did Senior Lauren DeLaPerriere, scoring two of his three goals in the first quarter.  Cambridge added 5 goals in the second quarter to lead Central 9-0 at the half.

The third and fourth quarters played out much the same as the previous two – with the Bears dominating the game and putting the ball in the net another five times.   Jake Leddy had a goal and 4 assists for Cambridge.

The Bears defense once again put in a solid performance, as did goalie Aaron Contreras.  Freshman new-comer Branch Morley made his varsity debut in the cage in the fourth quarter, saving a hot shot off a Bulldog fast break.
