North Georgia High School Golf Classic

While inclement weather shortened the North Georgia High School Golf Classic to one round, it did not dampen the play of the Bears who fashioned a fourth-place finish in the 17-team field.

Senior Blake Farbman and sophomore Jake Peacock shot subpar rounds of -3 and -1, respectively. Farbman's stellar play included five birdies and 12 pars. Any time you compete against your neighbor, bragging rights are on the line. Such was the case when Cambridge and Milton, which are separated by only a few miles, got together for a home-and-home series.

The Bears took both nine-hole matches. Cambridge won the opener at White Columns Country Club, 153-203. Coleman Leathers was the model of consistency. The junior put together nine straight pars for a round of 36. Sophomore Jake Peacock's 37 was one stroke off Leather's pace. Junior Owen Furr and sophomore Griffin Sasdi rounded out the scoring for Cambridge with scores of 43.

In the rematch one day later at Atlanta National Golf Club, a short-handed Cambridge — the Bears only fielded four players — made it two straight victories, 178-195. Sophomores Jack Unold and Griffin Sasdi paced the Bears with scores of 43 and 44, respectively. Junior Owen Furr contributed a round of 45 and fellow junior James Campbell shot a 46.
