Larry Nelson Invitational, Monday, March 11th

The Bears finished 7th in the second annual Larry Nelson Invitational at Atlanta Country Club in Marietta.

The event, named in honor of three-time major winner (two PGA Championships and one U.S. Open) and hosted by Westminster High School, featured a strong 16 team field.

Sophomore Jake Peacock paced Cambridge with a 74.  Seniors Blake Farbman and Ryan Demit carded scores of 76 and 77, respectively.  As a team, the Bears shot 312.

Ever gracious, Mr. Nelson was on hand to greet and speak with the participants.  Rivers Academy won the event with an impressive score of 282.

JV Georgia Cup, Tuesday, March 12th

The Bears participated in the inaugural JV Georgia Cup at Atlanta National Golf Club in Milton.  The Ryder Cup-style event was hosted by Milton High School.

The East squad of Centennial, Johns Creek, Lambert, Marist and South Forsyth bested the West team of Cambridge, Creekview, Harrison, Milton and North Forsyth by a score of 13-7.

In match play, Cambridge's Jake Peacock closed out his Johns Creek opponent, 4 and 3, by birdieing the 15th hole of competition.  Peacock's birdie putt was conceded after he landed his approach shot from 96 yards within one foot of the pin.

In scramble play, the Bears' duo of sophomore Bubba Sasdi and Owen Furr ran the table on their Centennial foes, 10 and 8.  Sasdi and Furr combined to birdie four of the 10 holes.  The Cambridge combination of junior James Campbell and sophomore Jack Unold dropped a close match in alternate shot play to South Forsyth, 2 and 1.
