Cambridge Varsity Boys Basketball Competes in Daytona Beach Sunshine Classic Tournament, Dec. 27-30

The Cambridge basketball program made a trip over the holiday break to Daytona Beach, Florida to participate in the Sunshine Classic Basketball Tournament.  The Bears did an outstanding job representing Cambridge High School and finished the tournament with a 2-1 record.  The boys finished 2016 with a 9-5 record overall and 4-2 record in the region.

Cambridge 59  Atlantic (FL) 69

The Bears lost in the opening game to an extremely athletic and tough host Atlantic High School.  The Atlantic Sharks had great size and speed, but the Bears battled with them admirably.  David Banks led the Bears with 20 points.  Jackson Boyea added 10 points in the loss.  The Bears didn't start off with a win, but they showed that they can compete with anybody.

Cambridge 58 Pikeville (KY) 38

The Bears got off to a slow start and found themselves down 4-13 after the first quarter, but outscored the Panthers 54-25 the rest of the way.  Kamar Robertson led the Bears with 15 points followed by 12 from David BanksKyler Ingram played a strong game and provided a mismatch for Pikeville all throughout the game.

Cambridge 74 Woodstock (GA) 71

The Bears finished off the tournament with a strong showing against Woodstock.  Both Bryce Boutelle and Kamar Robertson led the Bear attack with 17 points each.  Kyler Ingram had another nice showing with 12 points.  David Banks played some great minutes and added 7 points along with an All-Tournament Team selection.
