The Cambridge Gym Bears finished first at the South Forsyth meet, Saturday, February 13th.
The team started on vault with freshman, Victoria Lancaster, scoring a 9.3 and earning 2nd place and junior, Adeline Woods, scoring a 9.0 and earning 3rd place.
The team dominated on floor, sweeping the top 3 spots. Junior, Lia McSweeney, finished in first place with a 9.3. Freshman, Anjali Roy, finished in second place with a 9.2. Sophomore, Ella Thurman, finished in third place with a 9.1.
On beam, Ella, finished in third place with a 9.0. Anjali tied for fourth place with an 8.8.
Finishing on bars, Lia finished in first place with a 9.4 and freshman, Anna Draper, finished in second place with a 9.2.
The team improved their overall team score to 108.4, almost 3 points higher in this meet than their first meet of the season. Congrats to Ella, who scored 34.95 all around, accomplishing her first of 2 all around scores of 34 or higher required to qualify for state prelims.
Gym Bears are off to a great start this season. Their next meet is Saturday March 6th in Locust Grove.
