The Cambridge Gymnastics team took 1st place this past Saturday, 3/9, in their third meet of the season. The Gym Bears had their highest score in the CHS Gymnastics team's history with a 108.075!
The team began the meet on Floor with 4 gymnasts competing, Allie Rosenbloom, Taylor Rech, Charlie Behner, and senior Jenna Hart. They quickly moved onto Vault where senior Haley Copeland started the team off with a strong score of an 8.4, followed by the remaining three CHS gymnasts scoring 9s; Hart with a 9.0, followed by Behner with a 9.2 and top scorer of the night, Rech with a 9.75! The girls followed up with additional good scores on Bars, lead scorer Behner bringing in a score of a 9.3. The team then sealed the night with their performances on Beam, all 4 girls competing coming in with strong scores, Adeline Woods 8.5, Hart 8.65, Rech 9.15 and Behner 9.55.
The CHS gym Bears have 3 meets remaining in their season with some tough competition ahead and rising hopes of qualifying for State Prelims in April. The next meet will be on Thursday, 3/21 at Dunwoody High School at 6pm.
