The CHS Girls Gymnastics open their season by taking third overall against seven other teams at the Dobbs Creek Meet on Saturday, February, 23rd.
The team topped the day with a team score of 99.95 with four of their teammates missing from today's competition. They began the day nervously on beam, with high scores from Madelyn Mild and Lia McSweeney, 8.5 and 8.4 respectively. The girls continued their competition on Floor and Vault with high scores once again from Mild and seniors Jenna Hart and Haley Copeland. Routines were wrapped up on Bars with only three girls competing, Hart, McSweeney and Mild, each girl scoring over an 8 to round the day's total and help the Bears to secure third place overall.
A special shoutout to Madelyn Mild for taking 3rd in the All-Around category and succeeding in her first attempt at qualifying for state prelims. In addition, both Hart and McSweeny have also begun their run at qualifying for state prelims on Vault and Bars respectively.
Cambridge competes again this Friday, 3/1 at 6pm at Infinity Gymnastics.
