Cambridge GymBears Place 3rd at Westminster Invitational, Wednesday, March 7th
The Varsity Gymnastics team traveled to Westminster on Wednesday, March 7th, placing 3rd out of 7 teams from the metro area.  Milton came in first with Walton in second, followed closely by Cambridge.  
 
The GymBears were once again led by Freshman Kiplin Polk. Polk placed 3rd All-Around with a score of 34.85.  Fellow Freshman Chloe Wheeler placed 7th All-Around with a total of 33.6.
 
The Uneven Bars were up first for Cambridge, and Polk started off with a meet winning performance, scoring 9.25 for 1st place.  Wheeler posted an 8.7 and earned a 5th place finish.
 
The Balance Beam was up next, and overall, the scores were lower than average -  with the exception of a gymnast from Milton who scored a 9.5.  For Cambridge, Freshman Gracie Counsell, with a personal best score of 8.3, tied with teammate Wheeler in a four way tie for 4th.  Polk followed her teammates with a score of 8.2.
 
Moving to the Floor Exercise - the Bears consistently strongest event - Cambridge once again delivered solid performances.  Polk again led the team with a score of 9.0 which earned her a 4 way tie for 4th. Annalise Stallworth, a Floor specialist, placed 8th with an 8.9.  Freshman Erin Huddle came in 11th, tying with gymnasts from Westminster and Walton with scores of 8.7. 
 
The GymBears last rotation was on Vault.  Huddle posted the highest score for Cambridge, earning 8th place with an 8.6.  Polk followed with an 8.4, with Wheeler (8.1) and Junior Haley Copeland (7.9) completing the competition.

The last regular season meet will be at Lovett starting at 5 p.m. on March 21st
