Bears Varsity Football Defeats Forsyth Central 36-21, Friday, Oct. 30th

Bear fans, on Friday night 10/30/15, our Bears took on the Forsyth Central Bulldogs in an important home game looking to match last year's 7-2 regular season mark. The Bears (5-1 in region play) came out on top with a 36-21 victory.  Forsyth Central finished the season with a 3-6 overall record and 1-5 in region play.

The Bears again had a strong, consistent running game amassing 281 total rushing yards led by 233 yards by senior JD White (2 TDs) and 48 yards by junior Kaelin Byrd (3 TDs). Although the Bears only had 6 pass receptions for the game, the receiving core came up with clutch catches led by seniors Scott Gustafson and Kyle McDougall and sophomore Spencer Gaddis.  The receivers contributed big blocks that led to nice TD runs in the game.

Defensively, the Bears were solid, led by senior Michael Pellegrino (9 solo tackles), senior Nathan Kish (5) and junior Tyler Werth (5).  The Bears had several key 4th down stops in the game as well.

Next up for the Bears will be the Creekview Grizzlies in a non-region contest in Friday November 6th.  The game is a rematch of last year's contest to determine who makes the state playoffs.

Please come out to support our Bears as we travel to Creekview (Canton Ga.) to make our push for a playoff berth for the first time in school history.  Game start time is 7:30 pm.

Go Bears!
