Cambridge Football Improves to 4-1 with Impressive Win over North Atlanta

Bear fans, on Friday night 10/2/15 at Grady High School stadium, our Region 7B-AAAAA Bears took on the North Atlanta Warriors in conference play.  Our Bears came into the contest with a 3-1 record and improved to 4-1 overall and 2-0 in conference play with a 35-16 victory on a wet and windy night in downtown Atlanta.  The Warriors fell to 2-4 overall and 0-3 in conference play.

Senior JD White took the majority of the Bears offensive handoffs at running back due to the loss of junior Kaelin Byrd to injury in the previous game.  JD stepped up to the plate with a huge night leading the offensive push with 290 yards on 27 carries contributing 3 big touchdowns runs.   Adding to the rushing touchdowns was Alec Kramer with two strong runs.  All PATs by kicker Victor Valentine were successful.

The inclement weather limited the passing attack for the Bears to an efficient 8 receptions for 119 yards on 14 passing attempts by quarterback Cameron Moore.

The host team Warriors were led by their quarterback who had 101 yards rushing and their big wide receiver with 232 yards receiving.

Defensively, the Bears had several contributors with solo tackles, led by sophomore Zach Furr with four.  Total solo and assisted tackles totaled 57.  Alec Kramer added an interception on the night.

This Friday, October 9th, the Bears will take on the Sprayberry Yellow Jackets at Bear stadium in conference play looking to avenge a tough defeat last year in Marietta.  The Yellow Jackets enter the contest with a 4-2 overall record (2-1 in conference play) coming off a 17-6 home loss to Riverwood at home last Friday.

Game start time is 7:30 PM.  Come out and support our Bears.

Go Bears!
