Cambridge Varsity Football Defeats Kell 21-7, Friday, Sept. 25th

Bear fans, on Friday night September 25th at Bear stadium, our Region 7B-AAAAA Bears went to battle against the Kell Longhorns in conference play.  Our Bears came out victorious in a 21-7 hard fought victory on a misty, wet night to avenge last year's heartbreaker in Cobb County.  The Bears improved their record to 3-1.

The first half started out even for both teams as the defenses dominated.  Kell took a 7-0 lead with just seconds left at the end of the first half on a short goal line dive by their quarterback.

The second half was dominated by our Bears, starting with a 60-yard touchdown pass from junior quarterback Cameron Moore to sophomore wideout Spencer Gaddis.  The successful PAT by junior Victor Valentine tied the game.

The Bears shut out the Longhorns in the second half by adding two more touchdowns and PATs.  The first was a 40 yard scamper by junior running back Kaelin Byrd.  That was followed by a short touchdown run by Eric Cizek as the Bear offensive line led the way. The score was set up by a fumble recovery by JD White at the goal line.

Next up for the Bears will be a Friday night Oct. 2 battle against the 2-3 North Atlanta Warriors at Grady High School.

Game start time is 7:30 PM.  Come out and support our Bears.

Go Bears!
