Cambridge Football Takes on Lumpkin County in Scrimmage, Friday, August 7th

Cambridge Bears fans... Football season starts Friday, August 7th at Lumpkin County in a scrimmage game.

The Lumpkin County Indians team is in class 3A from Dahlonega. Like last year's scrimmage against the Indians, Bears Head Coach Craig Bennett sees this as a dress rehearsal for the coaches to observe and discover play and player readiness as opposed to playing with a Win/Loss emphasis.  It will give them the video tool to prepare for the season opener Saturday, August 22 against Holy Innocents.

Lumpkin County is coming off a 5-6 overall record last season while our class 5A Bears produced the first winning season in the short history of the school with a 7-3 record.  This year, Bear fans can expect to see seniors Nathan Kish, Trey Wolfe and J.D. White leading the charge after the departure of a talented quarterback, Brian Moore, and offensive receivers, John Hurst and Hunter Smith  Bear fans can also expect a strong season from talented Junior running back Kaelyn Byrd to fuel the offensive charge.

Freshmen Ridge Polk, D. Conway and Kasra Bojnordi should see some playing time on the varsity squad this year as coaches see great development potential for them. With 23 seniors on the squad, it looks to be an exciting, competitive season for Cambridge.

Come on out and preview your 2015-16 Cambridge Varsity Bears at Lumpkin County in Dahlonega Friday night August 7th.  Scrimmage time is 7:30pm.

Address: 2001 Indian Dr, Dahlonega, GA.   30533
