The Cambridge High School Stadium will take center stage Friday Aug. 31st as the Cambridge Bears host Riverwood.

Please plan to be in your seats by 6:45 p.m. to receive your special rally/spirit towels which will be handed out during an important pre-game ceremony to kick off this major school event.

The Touchdown Club is expecting a "Blue-Out", so come to the stadium wearing your Cambridge Blue (light blue).  Students who wear official Cambridge Bear Spirit Wear will get into the stadium free of charge.

If you are a Cambridge Athletic Association member or recently joined, please pick up your items at the CAA membership table. The table will be staffed from 2:00 p.m. until 6:30 p.m. Friday.

The building blocks are in place for an awesome start to the first ever Cambridge football season. Athletic Director Matt Lawless says this will be a day to celebrate what has been a year long process and a lot of time and effort leading up to this game. Coaches, parents, players, and administrative staff have been working countless hours to be ready for this historic event. The Cambridge Marching Band and cheerleaders also worked extremely hard to prepare for the big day.

The coaches have been overwhelmed by the amount of parent and community support at the events leading up to this official season start.  Cambridge Head Football Coach Craig Bennett sees it as a real strength to carry the excitement and energy forward into Friday night's home-opener against the Riverwood Raiders.  With good depth to develop and good preparation at the skill positions, optimism reigns for the future of the Cambridge Bears. Coach Bennett wants the players to go in to win and hopes when the buzzer signals the end of the game, he and his players will walk off the field knowing they played their best this first ever game at Cambridge Stadium.

Friday night will consist of several special pre-game festivities, including a tail-gate party for the Class of 2013, a ceremonial opening with local dignitaries, an inaugural coin flip, and a band performance. Spirit wear will be available for purchase, including inaugural game t-shirts.  Please remember to arrive early and be inside the stadium by 6:45 p.m.  Game time is 7:30 p.m.
