Join our team to help end pancreatic cancer!

Join us for our annual Cambridge Baseball's "Purple Pansies Day at the Ballpark" on Friday, March 8 at 5:50 pm.  Help Cambridge Baseball support Purple Pansies and help in the fight to end pancreatic cancer.  

Maria Fundora, owner of Casa Nuova Italian Restaurant in Alpharetta, founded the nonprofit, Purple Pansies, in 2008 following her mother's death from pancreatic cancer. Purple Pansies is a way to honor her mother, spread her lesson of compassion and carry on in her footsteps by helping others afflicted by this disease.

Purple Pansies is a board of all volunteer staff, and is proud to be able to distribute 100% of the funds raised, less expenses, in three key ways:

1. They provide emergency grants to those in immediate need for assistance with medical bills, medical procedures and medications to ensure patients can thrive.

2. They award multiple scholarships a year, to children from families affected by pancreatic cancer, in order to ease the burden it has placed on their lives.

3. They fund research and clinical trials to help end pancreatic cancer.  They are proud to fund TGen, an affiliate of City of Hope.

Pancreatic cancer has the highest mortality rate of all cancers, but receives only 6% of government research funding. Early detection is critical to reverse this trend as 91% of patients find the cancer has spread by the time the disease is detected and over 74% of the patients will not survive one year from the time of diagnosis. The 5 year survival rate is now 12%.  To date, Purple Pansies has raised millions dollars to increase pancreatic cancer awareness, fund research and aid affected families.
