Cambridge Welcomes New Head Baseball Coach, Evan Tieles

On behalf of Principal Dr. Edward Spurka, Athletic Director Lesley Broadwell, and the Cambridge High School Athletic Department, we are happy to welcome Coach Evan Tieles as our new Head Baseball Coach.

Coach Tieles comes to us from Blessed Trinity High School where he has been a varsity assistant coach for the baseball program as well as math teacher since August 2013. While on the coaching staff, Coach Tieles has been part of two AAA State Championship teams in 2014 and 2015 and State Runner-Up in both 2016 and 2017. He has served as hitting coach, assistant pitching coach, and outfielder coach.

Coach Tieles is from the area and went to high school at Blessed Trinity as well, where he was a 3 year letterman from 2005-2007. He was the winning pitcher on their 2006 State Champion team and in 2007 was a member of Team Georgia, All-County, First Team All-Area, First Team All-State and named to the Georgia Dugout Club Top 100. He won the school's Team Silver Slugger Award in 2006 and was the 2007 Golden Spike Award winner. Coach Tieles earned an athletic scholarship to play baseball at the University of Georgia where he was a member of the 2008 SEC Championship team & NCAA Runner-Up in the College World Series. He was also on the 2009 Fall SEC Academic Honor Roll. Coach Tieles holds a Bachelor of Science in Education from the University of Georgia and a Master's Degree in Kinesiology from Georgia Southern University.

Coach Tieles is excited about taking the helm of our baseball program and we are happy to have him as a Cambridge Bear.
