In a game they could have used to solidify their second place region standing, Cambridge instead lost a road game at Centennial on Friday night.  The home team jumped out to a 6-0 lead and it turned out to be too much to overcome for the visiting Bears. 

Centennial led 4-0 in the first courtesy of three hits and a Cambridge error against Bears starter Blake Renner.  After allowing another run in the second, Jake Swiacki entered the game and escaped the inning without further damage.  Swiacki allowed a single run in the third to push the score to 6-0.

The Cambridge bats were silent early.  Teddy Egan and Christian Lail led off the third with a couple of singles, but both runners were stranded.  Swiacki pitched well, allowing no further runs through the fifth.  Brice Shafer pitched a scoreless inning in the sixth before the Cambridge offense found itself in the seventh.  Hayden Onorato drove a home run over the left center fence driving in Sam Waylock, who had walked.  Down 6-2, the Bears offense was not finished.  Egan lined a single to center and came home on a double down the right field line by Michael Kolesar.  The rally ended there, however, and the game finished with a score of 6-3.

Renner took the loss, allowing four earned runs in an inning of work.  Swiacki went four innings allowing a run with seven strikeouts.  Onorato supplied most of the offense with his pinch hit home run, while Egan had two hits and scored a run.
