Bears Freshman Baseball Drop Two to Milton, Monday, March 30th

The Cambridge Bears Freshman fall to Milton in a double header after leading both games, Monday March 30th.

Milton-3, Bears-2 (Game 1)

The Bears jumped out to an early 1-0 lead in the top of the second inning. A single by Matt Gustafson, bringing home Jordin D'Aversa-Williams started the inning off.

Milton stayed on top until the final out after taking the lead in the seventh, scoring three runs on two errors.

Gustafson both hit and pitched well for the Bears, but it wasn't enough as the Bears fell to Milton 3-2. Gustafson was hot from the plate for the Bears, going 2-3 and driving in one. He singled in the second and fourth innings.

Gustafson also looked sharp on the hill. Milton managed just two hits off of the Bears pitcher, who allowed no earned runs, walked two and struck out five during his five innings of work.

Milton-6, Bears-5 (Game 2)

The Bears got on top of Milton early in the second game but couldn't hang on. Al Webb and Carson Friden pitched two innings each for the Bears.

While the Bears led until the fourth inning, Milton worked its way back and took the lead on an RBI single.

Jordin D'Aversa-Williams was solid at the plate for the Bears. D'Aversa-Williams went 2-3 in the second game and scored two runs. He singled in the first inning and doubled in the third inning.

The Bears jumped out to an early 3-0 lead in the top of the first. After D'Aversa-Williams singled, the Bears kept the pressure on Milton pitching, as Jackson Edmiston singled. The Bears then tacked on more runs when Teddy Egan scored on an error and Edmiston scored on a wild pitch.

After a quick strike from the Bears, Milton responded with four runs in the first. Milton scored on a walk, a hit by pitch, an RBI single, and a wild pitch.

The game's last lead went to Milton thanks to a fourth inning rally ending the game 6-5 Milton.
