Bears Varsity Baseball Take Two of Three from Sprayberry

After dropping the first game of the series 6-1 on Monday, April 6th, the Bears Varsity Baseball team came back to beat Sprayberry 4-2 on Wednesday, April 8th and 8-1 on Thursday, April 9th.  The Bears are now 9-8 in AAAAA Region 7 play. 

The Bears were led on Wednesday by sophomore hurler Jonathan Hirschland, as he got his third consecutive complete game win. He allowed five hits and just two runs over seven innings, striking out three, while allowing no free passes. 

Seniors Nick Sieverts, Sam Wilson and Brian Moore along with sophomore Austin Weiermiller led the offensive charge this week with three hits apiece.

 

On Thursday, the Bears beat Sprayberry 8-1 in seven innings after a five-run explosion in the sixth inning. 

Jonathan Mullis had an impressive outing against Sprayberry 's lineup. Mullis gave up just two hits, allowed one earned run, walked three and struck out four during his seven innings of work. 

Next up for the Bears is an away game on Tuesday, April 14th at 5:55 PM at North Springs.
