Bears Varsity Baseball Takes Two of Three Games from Kell

The Cambridge Bears, starting nine sophomores and one senior, beat Kell on Friday, March 27th, 9-3 at Cambridge High School in seven innings.

Sophomore Conner Young racked up three RBIs on two hits for the Bears including a line-drive homer in the fifth inning.

Jonathan Hirschland was a workhorse on the rubber while bagging the win for the Bears. The righty sophomore had five strike outs in a seven inning complete game, allowing just five hits, one walk and three earned runs.

The Bears brought home three runs in each of the first, fifth and sixth innings.  Senior Sam Wilson got things rolling in the bottom of the 6th with a pinch-hit single to left center.  Senior Brian Moore and sophomore Hayden Onorato capped the scoring with RBI singles.  The Bears earned 10 hits off of Longhorn hurlers.

Longhorn pitcher, Bryan Grant was charged with the loss. He allowed six runs in five innings, walked four and struck out two.
