An ace performance by Austin Weiermiller led the Bears to a 4-0 win in seven innings over Kell on Monday, March 23rd at Cambridge High School.
Weiermiller's 15 strikeout gem pushed the Bears past the Kell Longhorns as the Bears' pitcher gave up just four hits over seven shutout innings.
The Bears took the lead for good thanks to a first inning rally started by a lead-off single by Weiermiller followed by an RBI single from Hayden Onorato scoring pinch runner Matthew Hughes.
The Bears tacked on another two runs in the sixth. Jake Swiacki led off the 6th with a walk and Luke Foote singled to left; Weiermiller was intentionally walked and Brian Moore drove in pinch runner Sam Wilson.
Grady Miller was charged with the loss for the Longhorns. He lasted five innings, walked two, struck out one, and allowed two runs.
Go Bears!
