Bears Varsity Baseball Crush North Springs 16-4

The Cambridge Varsity baseball team recorded its first ever region victory on Saturday, March 16th by defeating North Springs 16-4. 

The Bears were led by Senior Stone Kelly who earned the win by throwing 5 complete innings while striking out 9 Spartan batters. 

The Bear's bats came alive as the team tallied 19 total hits.  Stone Kelly was 3 for 4 with a 2-run Homerun and drove in 5 runs.  Standout sophomore Hunter Smith was 4 for 4 on the day, while fellow sophomores Brendan Lawler and Nick Sieverts batted a combined 7 for 7 on the day.  Senior Austin Smitherman also contributed to the offensive barrage by chipping in with 3 hits and 3 RBI. 

The Bears look to continue their winning ways on Monday, March 18th as they lace up the cleats to battle Sprayberry High School.   The game will be at Cambridge High with first pitch scheduled for 5:55pm.
