FOUR ATHLETES RACE THEIR WAY TO NATIONALS

FOUR ATHLETES RACE THEIR WAY TO NATIONALS
The USATF region four championships were held July 6-9, 2023 on the campus of the University of South Florida in Tampa. Four Cambridge varsity athletes earned the right to advance to the USATF Junior Olympics championship later this month on historic Hayward Field in Eugene, Oregon. One athlete fell just short in her pursuit.

The results from this meet included the following:

Seth Odom - finished fifth in the 800 meters (personal record) and it would have been a school record run if unattached or in regular season. He advances to Oregon.

Ibrahim Bangura - finished third in the 110 meter hurdles (set a personal record in the preliminary round) and it would have lowered his current school record if unattached or in regular season. He advances to Oregon.

Dominick Lawshea - finished second in the 400 meter hurdles with a strong run. He advances to Oregon.

Brandon Moss - finished eighth in the 100 meters (set a personal record in the preliminary round) and it would have lowered his current school record if unattached or in regular season. He advances to Oregon.

Taylor Lasoff - finished thirteenth in the 100 meters (personal record) and just missed advancing to Oregon.

Congratulations to each of these athletes for working hard this summer. The Georgia Games are upcoming where folks from six to eighty six will compete.
