Payton Schanen -
Junior
Junior Payton Schanen shot a one over par 73 at the Region 7 AAAAA Championship Thursday, April 24, at Bentwater Golf Club in Acworth, GA.
She was named the Individual Region Low Medalist and led her team to 1st place Champions in the region! The Cambridge Bears finished with a team score of 225, which was 30 strokes ahead of the 2nd place team (Creekview, 255).
Payton has had a strong season, and she also made the All-Tournament team as the third place individual in the West Hall Invitational with a 74 on the Chateau Course at Chateau Élan.
Payton has committed to play golf at Mercer University in Georgia.
Chris Meyer - Senior
Chris has been a quiet leader of the Cambridge Varsity Boys golf team.
This impressive senior led the team to Cambridge’s first boys Region Championship with a stellar round of 76. He has named to the All-Region team as well.
Coach Peter Vajda says "Chris leads by example helping our young Cambridge team in many ways. He is a four year varsity letter winner (2 with Alpharetta High School). It is with pleasure that I nominate Chris Meyer."
Chris will be attending Mississippi State in the fall entering the PGA (Professional Golfers Association) Management program.
