Congratulations to Junior Jill Haight and Sophomore Jameson Wilkins, the Cambridge Athletes of the Week!
Jill Haight -
Junior
Jill helped lead the 12-1 Lady Bears to two big region wins this
week over Wesleyan and Forsyth Central, where she had a combined 10
goals and 11 assists.
"Jill has an innate ability to see the field and create great opportunities for her teammates to score'" says Coach Masinko and adds, "she makes smart decisions with the ball." Masinko says as a captain, Jill shows great leadership on and off the field; her commitment to the sport, her team, and to constantly improving her game are inspiring to all of the Lady Bears.
Her years of dedicated work on the field have paid off. Jill was the First Lady Bear in history to commit to play Division 1 Lacrosse in college; she will attend San Diego State University and play lacrosse there upon her graduation in 2015.
Jameson Wilkins - Sophomore midfielder
Jameson scored the game tying goal as well as a thrilling
sudden death OT game winning goal against #4 ranked Blessed Trinity
in their April 3rd game.
Jameson is 2nd on the team in goals and total
points. Coach Russ Armistead says Jameson excels in the
classroom as well as on the field and represents our program, his
family and this community with integrity and character.
