Congratulations to the Lady Bears Varsity Softball team, the Cambridge Athletes of the Week!

Head Coach Chip Flemmer worked with this team for the first time this year.  He is congratulating the Cambridge Lady Bears Softball team for such a successful season. "The girls finished the season with a 21-9 record and an appearance in the State Tournament's Sweet 16 only to come up just a little short against perennial powerhouse Loganville.

"This is a group of young ladies that you will want to follow for the next several years!  I hope the girls don't forget that feeling of disappointment after being eliminated to motivate them to work hard this off-season to prepare for next season."  Flemmer added the Lady Bears had excellent pitching as well as a solid defense this past season.  "The team's offense proved on several occasions that they could be equally impressive."

Flemmer says they will lose one senior this year, who is Maria Lay. "Maria has been a solid leader this season, and I really appreciate the example she has set for the younger players.  She will really be missed!"

Congratulations to our Cambridge Lady Bears for making it to the GHSA State Tournament Sweet 16!
