Congratulations to Senior MADDIE STEEVENS, the Cambridge Athlete of the Week!

Maddie Steevens, a senior, is the Lady Bears soccer goal keeper. In the final regular season game against Sprayberry, Maddie saved 3 of 4 penalty shots taken by Yellow Jackets in the final round of over time to help secure a 3-2 win for Cambridge along with the first ever playoff round for a Cambridge Bears girls soccer team.  

"As a senior on the field, Maddie provides a lot of support and motivation to all of the players, and it was especially significant during this game", says Varsity Coach Alex Thon. "It’s difficult being a keeper – a lot of times – whether they should or not – players, spectators and even coaches look to this position to make or break a game and be a leader. Maddie has been resilient and mentally tough through every situation and every step of the way this season."
