Congratulations to Lauren Stewart and Maria Lay for earning Region 7AAAAA All-Region Honors...the first Cambridge athletes to be named GHSA All-Region!
Lauren, a Sophomore, is a second time All-Region player as she was named to the All-Region team as a Freshman at Alpharetta HS last season. Lauren led the Cambridge Fastpitch team in the following offensive categories: stolen bases (19), slugging percentage (.574), and walks (16). She also led the team defensively with a .969 fielding percentage.
Maria, a Junior, led the team offensively in batting average (.420), on-base percentage (.517), singles (17), and batting average with runners in scoring position (.375). She finished the season defensively with 2 errors in 23 games, which equates to a fielding percentage of .938. Both Maria and Lauren tied for the team lead with 21 hits on the season.
