Amelia Phillips, Varsity Volleyball

A rookie to the sport of volleyball, Amelia Philips has shown vast improvements and great potential in the game.  In just a few short weeks she has become a strong blocker and has progressed offfensively as well.  She had a record high four kills against Area opponent, Osborne and had a strong presence at the net.  Amelia has a cumulative hitting percentage of .307 alongside 3 solo blocks.  

Always a positive player,  Philips brings an enthusiastic presence to the court and a great amount of energy.  "I can always count on Amelia to give 100% whether it’s in a match or at practice. She is always willing learn more about the game and hone her skills” says Coach Wardach.  

In addition to her selfless attitude, Philips, who plans on attending the prestigious University of Georgia in Fall of 2013, maintains leadership in the classroom with a 3.9 GPA. 

Amelia is one of three Seniors on the team and consistently shows maturity and work ethic throughout practices and games.  The Seniors will be recognized in the first Varsity Home game on September 25 at 5:30 in the main gym.
